Why did you title your question 'Free help'?  Also, other than size, you give no other details regarding this 'lump'.  It is unrealistic to expect meaningful assistance (whether free or otherwise) without providing sufficient detail to work from.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, I'm fairly certain it could be either -- or a hundred other things.  Again, you haven't provided any detailed background.

Does your dog have any other health problems -- does she take any medications?

How long has your dog had this lump?

Did the lump come on suddenly or gradually (length of time)?

Describe the lump's appearance?

Is the lump hard or soft?

Was your dog injured in the neck area prior to the lump's appearance?

Does your dog have any other symptoms?

Have her eating habits/Bowel bladder habits/sleep habits personality/energy level or normal behavior changed at all since the lump appeared?  If so, described changes in detail.

Have you taken the dog to see a veterinarian?  If so what if any tests or x-rays were done?  Describe results.  What if any diagnosis was reached?  What if any treatment or medication was provided or recommended?

Thanks in advance.

Steve PS: why are you asking for 'Free Help'?

Just to be clear -- while it does not cost to post questions here -- people are expected to pay the dollar value, which they choose to assign to their question, for at least one answer that they consider helpful.

That said, even if someone could correctly diagnose your dog via this site (sight unseen) -- which is basically impossible -- diagnosis is not treatment.  Unless the lump disappears -- also next to impossible -- your dog needs to see a vet.

If you can't afford a vet -- contact your local Humane Society for possible free or reduced fee vet care.

Good Luck!

You are incorrect.  However, you are welcome to make a (fully refundable) $5.00 deposit.  Questions with deposits do tend to generate more answers.  We have Specialists who are much more skilled than I am in the Pet Question area.  Perhaps one of them will help you more than I did.  (I really hope they can.)

That said, they don't tend to post their answers as 'Free Posts'  so, if they do answer you -- you will need to make the one-time and refundable $5.00 Deposit in order to see their answers to your question.

For, what it's worth -- I have now spent about 30 minutes on your question --telling you the same thing that very probably any other Specialists who answer this will tell you.

If money were my main concern -- I wouldn't have let the meter run anywhere near that long on 'Free Posts'

Good Luck!
