When your dog is eating well, the diarrhea has subsided and YOUR VET tells you that you can take the dog home, you can feel comfortable doing so.

Be sure to keep the dog's fluids up when you get home.  Parvo kills so quickly because the dog quickly gets dehydrated.  Also, be sure to follow your vet's instructions about booster shots and repeat vaccines.

You can get extra water into your dog when you come home by mixing a little water in with his regular food.  You can also give him ice chips to entice him to drink.

Let me know if you have more questions.

This Vet has been nothing but rude and makes me feel like I burden them to call for status. I am paying alllooottt for this, daily. When I called today, they said he is eating and drinking a LITTLE, I dont know how much a LITTLE is. He hasnt had any more diarrhea issues and is not vomiting...I went a looked at him yesterday, he looked better, waggin tail etc. I have paid for the rest of the day and another 400 will be tacked on 2mrw at noon. If he is eating, even a little, and looks better, and he has been there 3 days (american bulldog, 2 years old) I really want to bring him home, emotionally and finacially. I was planning on bringing him home and feeding him boiled meat and rice and monitoring all day...i cant tell if this vet wants more $$ or is actually worried.. there track record so far is pitiful. considering his comeback so far, i aml eaning towards bringing him home.. catch 22
