I have a two year old chihuahua that had parvo in August of last year.
He was treated at the vet for 7 days and made it, My aunt's dog just
had puppies and we got the little long-haired one. She is now 7weeks and
4 days old. We been having her since the day she turned 6 weeks. We
haven't got to bring her get shots yet.We are planning on bringinng her as
soon as my fiance' gets home from offshore in one week. How possible is
it that she can catch parvo from being around our first dog. I know
they say not to bring a dog with parvo around other dogs for at least
thirty days, but it still scares me. I don't want her to catch it. It was
a long horrible process to watch my other dog go through it. Do you
think she will be ok until we bring her get her shots.Since my dog had
parvo we have moved houses. We are not in the house the he was infected
in. And my dogs are no longer allowed to go outside. They are paper
trained, and remain inside, because of the higher risk of parvo, and
we live along a highway.
Thanks, Dixie Triche
