I read a post concerning home remedy for parvo. I do have a 4 month old Dachshund that has been diagnosted with Parvo and who have been in the Hospital for 4 days. She has shown diffient promise in a full recovery, but is still weak. I will talk with her vet tomorrow for more info. Once I get her home, is there anything I can do to help her completely recover? I will probably bring her home tomorrow, since the vet bill is already $500.00. Please any advise? I have been reading about Parvaid and Parvoguard. Any comments? Thanks Tena

Parvo kills because it quickly dehydrates the dog and robs the body of vital nutrients so you need to do what you can to combat that part of it.

You should start by syring-ing small amounts of pedialyte at a time into her mouth. My vet recommends that you also give about 1/2 tsp of Immodium and 1 tsp of emetrol every 12 hours if she is still vomiting and has diarrhea.

Keep up the pedialyte and give her as much as you can. This is THE BEST treatment.
