Hi Sheryl. It is so nice to hear from someone who is obviously trying to hard to do all the right things for their parrot. So many parrots are not so lucky. I'm going to do my best to give you some help and suggestions for this situation. First I need to ask you a couple questions. Is the vet you are seeing either a certifed avian vet or at least a vet that has a lot of experience with birds? Did he tell you what, if anything, the xray shows? How are you administering the Orbax? Liquid, tablet, oral, in the water or how? How long has the plucking been going on? Did it just start, possibly because of the construction or was she doing it before that? Is than an area in your house where she could be effectively isolated from all the construction or is the construction too wide spread throughout for that? Do you have a boarding place in mind, if it comes to that and what is your "gut feeling" about her being there for awhile. (I find that our instincts can serve us well when it comes to making parrot decisions.) Do you know how long she would have to be there and would it be close enough for you to visit her on a regular basis? If you will fill me in on this extra information, it will help me to give you my best answer and advice. Thanks, Patricia
