The band has no seam. Sorry for not including this first. I have already gathered much of what you stated as I have some how been around birds most my life, I was even the Back up front man @ the Hogle Zoo Bird Show in Salt Lake City for 4 years. I really want to find this out it has become some what of an obsession. We have four feathered companions but Tweeker is the only one with info on her band & no we are not a breeder, however this is how I know Tweeker is a she. (Her & Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy, our other Quaker who we know is a male, get it on in the spring & I take the eggs away)
Can you look a little harder? Buddysfriends.com has been down more than up lately I have e-mailed most of the band manufacturers who do not reply, I guess why should they?

Okay then. The only thing you can be sure about is that the band belongs to that bird. There just aren't that many ways to attempt to track a band with such "generic" information as Tweeker's has. One other option to try would be to check out as many Quaker chat rooms and message boards as possible, post the band information there and see if anyone recognizes it or the TGE in particular. I have some links for 3 of those boards for you. Just a quick FYI for you on the eggs' it is not good to take the eggs away. It is good that you don't want to have more baby birds showing up but there are ways around that by rendering the eggs infertile. But if you take them away before she (they) have grown bored waiting for them to hatch, it could cause her to try to lay more to replace them. If she is laying at all, she is really draining her calcium reserves and if her diet does not compensate, she could get in trouble, health wise. If she tries to replace those missing eggs, she will drain her calcium even further and could end up egg bound. You may already be aware of that but it's my nature to give more than was asked for and I feel too much information is better than too little, especially on the chance that an owner may not be aware of a possible problem. I really wish you luck with running down the band but I'm afraid the odds are not at all in your favor. Let m know if there is anything else I can do for you. Patricia
