Hi there and thanks for your question. Sorry to hear that Taz is not well. There are a few things that can cause these symptoms.

First of all, it sounds like he has some kind of respiratory tract infection. If his nose is stuffed up and he is congested there is a good chance that it is a bacterial infection. If so, he will likely need some antibiotics prescribed by your vet. It is also possible there is a viral infection. However, most respiratory viral infections in dogs usually cause more coughing than congestion. Usually if we have congestion it means that there is a bacterial component there (or possibly fungal).

Another possibility is that he has an obstruction in his nose such as a foreign object or a tumor (but he is very young to have a tumor). If this is the case, antibiotics may help, but he may need a vet examine to determine what is going on.

One other possibility is a tooth root infection. The upper teeth have roots that extend up towards the nasal cavity so if there is an infection it can cause congestion.

If he was bright and alert I would say we could wait this out for a few days, but it sounds like he really isn't feeling well, so it is probably a good idea to have him checked soon.

I hope this information helps! If you have more questions regarding this problem, just hit reply. Or, if my answer is sufficient, then please hit accept. Thanks!
