Question

Kennel Cough

Sent to Pet Experts October 01, 2004 1:53 p.m.

We bought a 3 year old American Bulldog in late January. On Monday, Sept 27th, we found and bought his daughter because she and the mother had begun to fight. We took her two days later to get her tags and rabies shot. Since Monday, the father has developed this bad cough. It sounds like something is stuck in his throat. I took her the first night to PetLand to by a training collar (they were out) and some chew bones. I went last night with them to PetLand (truck came in) and one of the employees suggested that part of a flavored rawhide bone may have broken off and gotten stuck. I have called around to several different vets and one suggested that perhaps he was exposed to kennel cough in the last 2 weeks. Until Monday, I don’t know where he would have been exposed. He seems to be getting worse and I will be taking him to a vet today, but I wanted some additional opinions/advise. Thank you, Shannon
