Hey,
I am freakin out! I have forgotten to give my dog his heartworm medicine!!!! I think it has been months (3?)!!! What should i do? He had a bad case of it when I first adopted him and had to do multiple treatments, which is worrying me even more!!! I remember my last talk with my vet, she said it is bad for the dog to be on it and off of it! Please help!!! thanks!!!!

REPLIED Check Mark

Go ahead and give it to him today, as long as it has not been more than 3 months since his last dose. The medication actually "reaches back" 2-3 months.

So, give it today and then test for heartworms at your next vet visit.

Let me know if you need more help!

ACCEPTED Check Mark

As long as it has not been MORE THAN 4 months, you can give the meds.
