My 8 year old male Keeshound died today.   He has been lathargic on Thursday, yesterday was worse with respiratory problems. He would only eat and drink a little.   He did not act as if he was in pain and showed no real symptoms of anything until last night and I believe he died during the night.   Any idea's, he has never been sick.

ACCEPTED Check Mark

Was he on heartworm preventative? If not, it may have been heartworms. They can be quick sometimes and can cause the lethargy and respiratory symptoms you say you saw. It could have been kidney failure or heart disease. If heart disease his chest could have filled with fluid causing the respiratory distress. I am sorry for your loss.
