how long after my 8 month old puppy is taken off of Ivomec should i give the heartgurad??

Heartguard is a monthly heartworm preventative. What was the puppy given Ivomec for and what was the dosage?

Reply to Viv Graves's Post: My puppy had mange. She was on Ivomec for about 3or 4 months. She cleared up now and the doctor took her off of ivomec. I want to be know when is it okay to start the heartguard again.

I would wait a couple weeks from when the last dose was given then start on the heartguard again. Don't wait more than a month. I give all dogs the heartworm preventative on the 1st and do the flea (frontline) preventative on the 15th.
