Question

Does a hampster have a menstral cycle like humans do?

My son's hampster seems to be bleeding a little every day near it's "rear", it has been like that for about a week.

Age: 1; Breed: dwarf hampster

Already Tried:
nothing-not sure what is going on with it, not even sure if it is a boy or girl.

According to the picture it is a girl, while we were checking a small blob came out (looking sort of like blackish red) of the next hole above the anus.

OK...hamsters DO NOT have normal cycles like woman do. I would get a hold of your vet first thing tomorrow as this could be a uterine infection or ovarian cysts causing this problem. These are both common problems in unbred female hamsters. You can read more here:
