Hello, My hamster has not been looking healthy for the past two days. All day and night he lays in one spot. it's not like him because he usually is more energetic than this. He's not eating, unless I feed him. Maybe he's sick? I've had him for 2 1/2 years. He looks almost dead, but he's breathing I don't know what to do?

Dear friend,

Hamsters only live for two to three years so your guy is a little on the senior side. He may be a little hypoglycemic so put a drop of pancake syrup right on his tongue to raise his blood sugar. Also, get plain pedialye and give him 2 drops every 10 minutes for an hour in case he is dehydrated. All you can do .for your buddy is support his life now in his old age. Here is an excellent link:

Please let me know how he responds to the pedialyte and syrup. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help in any way possible.

Very sincerely,

Terri
