Reply to Danielle's Post: I Had him a little bit over a year. I Notice while wiping his eyes that the color of his right eye is starting to look a little bit transparent. He's on an pine (Lemon Fragrance) Bedding. When ever I finish wiping his eyes the start to reappear again, then 10 mins later they close again. He's walk's with an hump on his back which is not normal to me.

It sounds like he may be allergic to something, and I'm willing to bet it's the bedding. Cedar and pine bedding should never be used for rodent's, as they contain toxic oils which can irritate a small animal's lungs. They can also cause allergies as well. The fact that it is lemon fragrance makes it worse. Lemon is an extremely acidic type smell, and he is laying in that 24 hours a day. Coupled with the urine, it is most likely irritating his eyes. I would suggest switching him over to a paper pellet based bedding such as Carefresh or Yesterday's News Small Animal, and see if this will improve his leaking eyes.

If he does not improve within a couple of days, or continues to get worse, I would have him seen by a veterinarian. They will need to examine him in order to diagnose, or rule out, any possible illness he may have, and determine an appropriate course of treatment.

Hope this helps!

The biggest symptom of wet tail is diarrea, with it being so severe, it will matt the anal area and make it appear very wet. If he does not have diarrea, then he definitely does not have Wet Tail.
