Our hamster has had a crusty eye for several months now. We took him to the vet and they gave him .3 ml of an antibiotic (2T a day) for a week. Still no change. What can be done to remedy this problem?

Hi, as a home remedy you can try mixing a half cup of sterile water with 1 teaspoonful of boric acid(can be purchased at a pharmacy) and using an eyedropper to bathe the eye two-three times daily. If this dosen't work within a couple of days, I still recommend seeking vet care as they may be able to try another antibiotic. Hope this information helps.
