How should you clean a hamster if they've gotten into something and are pretty dirty?

Optional Information:
Age: 1; Female; Breed: Hamster

Already Tried:
It's my daughter's class hamster we brought home for the weekend. There's a hole in the lid of her cage and during the night, she escaped. My husband found her all the way downstairs hiding on the side of our refrigerator. Her hair is dirty and clumped together in some spots. Not sure what she got into!

Hi Jo Ann,
If you are still looking to bath the little girl, the following website has directions on what you need to do. Be sure to keep her real warm afterwards and completely out of drafts.
