See if you get get a piece of thread and tie it around the umbilical cord really tightly.

How did the other baby die? Did the mom kill it?

It is normal for the mom to chew off the cord, but I guess I don't know how she was chewing it. It is best of baby stays with mom to nurse, although if absolutely necessary, you can hand feed a guinea pig baby.

The mom was cleaning the baby and ate part of it.

As she should. Was that how the first baby bled to death?

Ok, is the baby still bleeding? Or did you tie the umbilical cord off already?

I'm worried that the baby is weak from losing too much blood. The best option would be for you to take the baby to the vet. If you don't have an ER vet around you, then we'll do the best that we can.

In addition to keep the baby warm, also rub it with the cloth to clean it up and stimulate it.

The baby is not bleeding now I put it in a shoe bow and placed a heating pad under the box on low setting. Hopfully if the baby stays warm it will survive

Good. Are you going to bed now?

If not, I'd like it if you could put the heating pad and baby in with the mom, and see how they interact now. I would like it if the baby starts nursing.

To prevent mom from wanting to chew the cord more, I would make sure that the thread is tied close to the baby, and maybe cut off the tip of it so that it is not too long.

I do want you to separate them again when you are going to bed, because I would hate for the mom to chew the cord of the heating pad.

I am going to bed now. I will try to introduce the baby again in the morning if it survives. Thank you so much for your help
