we brought baby Guinea Pig about 2 months old. We decided to purchase another Guinea Pig and our old Guinea Pig makes this crying noise like a wine. The new Guinea Pig may be older than the our original Guinea Pig. My question is why wouldn't they get along? I thought they like company. My Guinea Pig kept crying. The new Guinea Pig look like it was trying to smell our Guinea Pig. We had to end up taking the new one out of the cage. I think we will return the new Guinea pig. Should we had purchased a younger Guinea Pig that what we have?

Optional Information:
Age: 4; Male; Breed: Guinea Pig/unknown

I put the other Guinea Pig with the new Guinea Pig because I thought it was suppose to be good company. I ended up removing the new guinea pig. Not sure if I should purchase a new guinea pig but much younger when I try to return the older guinea pig.

Usually it's better to have 2 babies of opposite sexes and get the male neutered to prevent unwanted litters(if they breed, you'll have to seperate them, and then they won't keep each other company). Are they actually fighting? It not be that they're not getting along, it may just be that the new pig is noisy! Guinea pigs are amazing at how many different sounds they can make!!! I've had some very quiet guinea pigs, and others that just won't shut up!!!

I have had vet tech training and worked in vet hospitals, but I am not a vet-please go to a vet for serious problems!

Reply to Cockatiel Momma's Post: They both are male, but the our old Guinea Pig look so fearful. He seems so much in distress. I thought it may because he was younger than the old one. It's really hard to say the age of the Guinea Pig. I think we will take the new one back to the Pet Store. The old Guinea Pig which is about 4 months old. He seem so much at peace once the othr Guinea Pig was removed. He was acting almost like he had to guard his food and so he sit on his food dish. It was so crazy. It keep a different noise when they were literally in each other faces squawking back and forth with their teeth showing. almost a teeth bitting noise but real fast. This may seem crazy but that's what it appeared to us. Also the new Guinea Pig was more dominant than our old Guinea Pig. Our Guinea Pig was scared to drink his water because it was near the new Guinea Pig. We have litter box in the corner and it seem like everytime the new Guinea Pig went into the litter box. Our old Guinea Pig would just kept keeping this squeaking noise...
