i just had a guinea pig die and i do not know why my

I just had a guinea pig die and I do not know why. My daughter was putting food in her cage and she was laying flat and seizing up. Her lips tuned blue and are swollen. all I can think of is an allergic reaction but nothing has changed. She did have babies three weeks ago. do I need milk replacer for them?
