My goldfish is holding his gills closed, is sitting at the bottom of the tank , some of his scales are falling off and now he has small brown spots forming on his sides. What could tjis be?

My fish is eating. He opens his gills slightly and does swim some around the tank, but is sitting at the bottom mostly. I haven't tried to pick him up in the net, but he is friendly and usually doesn't resist it at all.

I would say it is a parasite. goto local petshop and you can usally buy an additive to help kill it off i would also but him in a quaritnee tank so he doesnt infect other fish.
