My fantail goldfish has started to turn black around his ...

My fantail goldfish has started to turn black around his rear end and his back fins are shredding and falling off. I started with 8 fish and they all died except this one, but none had the same symptoms. What is wrong with him and is it worth treating, as I want to add some more fish to my tank. Thanks
