I have a fresh water fish tank in which my nitrite levels are so high they are off the charts, how do I fix this?

The best ways to lower high nitrite levels are daily 25% water changes, cut down on feeding the fish to a small amount every other day and if possible, adding some gravel or filter media to your tank from a well established aquarium.
