Water Readings
Sent to Pet Experts August 10 10:40 AM

Morning Gina, I want to share the current reading on my tank so you can review them.
Let me know again where the nitrates should be. I have been doing regular partial water changes to try and bring the nitrates down, but they seem to have a mind of their own : ) and are moving at their own pace....thanks as always, Lori

NO2 2.0
NO3 10
Ammonia less than 0.25
PH 7.6

Good morning Lori my fish friend :)

Nitrates should be less than 20ppm's (you are in a safe area right now) in your tank and the only way to fix them is by doing the water changes. I would test your tap water as well...see what it reads straight from the tap.

Your ammonia should be at zero and it will get there...also through water changes.

Your getting there...sometimes it can take up to 8 weeks to cycle...patience and consistency are always key :)

Reply to Gina's Post: What should my NO2 reading be at, right now it's at 2.0, and I have been doing a small water change everyday, how often do you want me to do it? Have a great day, thanks again Lori

NO2 should always be at 0 in a tank that has fully cycled :)

I would do a 25% water change every other day or so...its easier and more beneficial to do it this way instead of daily :)

Take a look at this link:

It should help you further :)
