Over exertion, parasites (such as protozoans like coccidia and giardia or worms), eating bad food, eating too quickly, exercising too soon after eating, excitement - lots of things can make pups vomit! Also swallowing a toy or other non food item can do it. Drinking chlorinated pool water will do it too.
Food intolerance could be suspected if the dog repeatedly vomits right after eating. Then a change to another higher quality food might be a good choice (California Natural, Canidae, Blue Buffalo, Wellness Fish and Potato among others are all considered higher quality foods).
Dogs are designed to gulp food and to vomit easily in case what they gulped doesn't settle well so vomiting isn't that unusual.
If she only does it once and doesn't seem sick I'd not worry. If she does it all the time or is acting sick or also has diarrhea I'd suggest consulting your vet.
Hope this helps you!

She started vomiting at 4:30 this morning after sleeping for 6 hours. She has not been around a pool and has consistently been on the same food for her entire life. She is sleeping alot will not eat or drink anything. Also has been wormed for the past three months on time. The only thing is i have kittens and she has been occasionally over the past three weeks getting into the litter box. I have since blocked it off and she has not had access to the litter in about 1 week.

Heartworm medicine won't resolve parasites picked up from the kittens if that is the wormer you are talking about. They do reduce incidence of worm infections but they don't eliminate them. Regular wormers do not take care of coccidia or giardia either.
This could be from the stomach being pretty empty early in the morning and there being foreign objects in her stomach that haven't passed including clumping cat litter if the kittens are using that or anything she might have swallowed - a toy, a bit of bone or stick, a rock etc.
Dogs can develop intolerances to the food they have always eaten - its how allergies work.
However, if she will not eat or drink and is lethargic then its time to call the emergency vet as this could be something serious such as bloat (bassets are deep chested enough for this) or an intestinal blockage or some other serious problem.
I would get her to a vet ASAP based on what you now say her symptoms are.
