We have recently got two finches. (male and female) since then they laid eggs few times ( one time even five eggs) and every time they either crack their eggs or could not make a proper filling for their nest and eventually ended up throughing them out of . We got them natural cotten filling but looks like it dosn't work and they really don't feel comfortable in it as they lay their eggs on them however stays out of the nest and again the same process of throughing their eggs out happens. what is the solution?

Hello Sue. In a situation like this, the first obvious question is, are you positive you have one of each gender? Depending on the the type of Finch you have, some are easy to tell, some not quite so easy to be sure. If you are positive about gender, please tell me the age of the birds and let me know everything that is in their diet. That will help me to advise you if by chance you have any nutritional deficiences going on. How many clutches have they had total, and over what period of time? How much time was there between clutches? This extra information will help me give you my best possible answers and advice. Thanks, Patricia
