Question

there is something wrong wmy calico female yrs old she

Sent to Pet Experts December 29, 2005 12:21 p.m.

There is something wrong w/my calico female 8 yrs old. She has always been nutty but lately she is urinating on the curtains a lot and she vomits frequently after eating. She gorges herself on dry catfood as well. This is not a daily occurrence. She can go days or sometimes weeks w/out this behavior and then it happens again. She hides when people come over and doesn't like loud noises or sudden movements and she actually hid under the bed for the 1st yr I had her. She is a bit "mental" and I wonder sometimes if the peeing and puking is just her being upset w/something (last time she did it was after we had a ferret visit) but I am concerned it may be something else. I looked up symptoms on diabetes but she is not losing weight (although she is a big girl) or excessively thirsty. Is this something I should have checked out? When I got her she came w/a script for valium, so she has always been nutty, but I am concerned since she is getting older.
