MY FERRET IS LOSING IT'S HAIR HE IS ALMOST BOLD HE LOOKS SO THIN I HAVE TAKEN HIM TO THE VET WHICH HAS GIVEN HIM 2 SHOTS THAT I FEEL HAVE NOT HELPED, HIS WEIGHT IS GOOD, HE EATS, DRINKS WATER AND PLAYS. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO FOR HIM, HE ALSO MAKES THIS NOISE AT NIGHT LIKE HIS CRYING THE VET SAYS HE IS DREAMING. PLEASE HELP HIM.

THE VET DIDNOT WANT TO DRAW ANY BLOOD SINCE HIS WEIGHT IS GOOD AND HE IS EATING AND DRINKING
I WILL FINDOUT THE NAME OF THE SHOUTS THAT WERE GIVEN AND GET BACK WITH YOU
AS FAR AS THE URINATING GOES HE DOES JUST FINE
THIS AS BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS.

I would strongly encourage you to get a blood test called a "ferret adrenal profile". By far the most common thing that causes hair loss in ferrets is adrenal gland disease and almost 70% of ferrets in the United States have this disease. You can easily find out with the blood test and it checks some hormone levels to see if your ferret has the disease. It is caused by overactive adrenal glands which are small glands located by the kidneys. It can be treated with surgery or medicine, but needs to be treated if this is the case. Sometimes male ferrets have an enalrged prostate gland because of the overactive hormones and they can have difficulty urinating.

Please let me know if you have more questions regarding this. I would ask your vet to run this test for you so you'll know if that is the problem.
