My 1yr cockatiel has just died, everthing was fine all day, but

My 1yr cockatiel has just died, everthing was fine all day, but when I came home from work he was breathing very fast and not acting normal. He all the sudden seemed to lose his balance breath even faster and slowly just fall into my hand. I have another young bird who is perfectly fine, What could have happened?

Hello. I am so sorry for your loss. How long had you had him? Did he come from a pet store or breeder or where? Was anyone else at home on the day the bird died? Did anything out of the ordinary go on shortly before his death? Any pest control people, any extra house cleaning? Were there any symptoms whatsoever preceding death that you know of? What kind of diet do your birds get? What type of cage was he in, plastic or metal? What types of toys did he have? What were you using for cage bottom liner? Is your other bird a Tiel also? This extra information and anything else you can thing of will help me give you my best answers and possible solutions to this mystery. Thanks, Patricia
