I haave a cockatiel bird, and lately the bird has been pulling out his feathers, My husband went over to the bird cage he saw the to of his head and said that the bird looks like he has lices, what must we do?

Already Tried:
I just find out tonight what is going on with the bird, so far I haven't done anything but try to get in touch with you to find out what you recommend.

Feather plucking can be from a couple things but the main one is stress or boredom. I would have your vet do an exam to rule out parasites or a medical reason but in the mean time you can try eleviating the picking by putting the bird in an area where he can see outside during the day (as lonog as there's no draft)...rotating different toys in his cage...play music when you're gone...try these things one at a time so you can tell when one works. This may help with the picking.
