My mother has a cockatiel and it laid and egg. It has been making signs of nesting. Should she leave the egg or dispose of it? There is no male around.

removing the egg

If there is no male around, the egg is not going to hatch and it could even rot and explode. I would go ahead and replace it with a wooden or plastic egg of a similar size and weight and discard the useless egg.

My mother is frantic that the bird keeps laying eggs. She is on her fourth. The bird is a cockatiel and 6 mos. old. Should she just keep removing the eggs and replacing with marbles or wooden eggs? She is afraid she will die.
