re: Cockatiel: Our bird didn't eat for 2 days-put on antibiotics by avian expert-then forced fed w/dropper vitamins/water every 2 hours-after 24 hrs and 8 feeding bird is responding well-has regained appetite totally-on day 5 of 10 day anti biotics courser-PROBLEM IS: His legs sees to be weak and his balance is definitely off-like inner ear problem in humans. He lands very awkwardly, w/wings spread often times, trying to balance-His eyes are lucis/clear, still sleep plenty and is now able to clean himself again-we removed the bars from his cage-are keeping it very clean...there is millet spray (his fave food) and vitamins mix, w/lettuce, edamame, and water too...Why is his coordination SO OFF? Besides taking him into the vet for a very expensive further evaluation course w/less than perfect diagnosis once there and too much stress on the bird being there-What do you su ggest we firther try to do? Greatly appreciate your wisdom!-DG
