What do I feed a mother cockatiel with newly hatched eggs?
Sent to Pet Experts January 29 12:50 PM

Well, firstly,I bought 2 cockatiels and they were supposed to be both females but I believe 1 is a male.I''ve had them for about 1 1/2 yrs. They were about 8 months when I got them. They''ve been mating for about a yr. now so I presume that "she" is a "he".He acts like a male and not a female.Anyway the one that I''m sure IS female has laid 3 eggs and the both have been sitting on them constantly. They are almost ready to hatch.First egg laid on Jan.13./08 and 1 every other day after until there were 3.So on Jan.17/08 she laid the third egg.If I''m correct and the gestation period is between 18-21 days, the first egg should hatch between Jan.31-Feb. 2/08.Also I presume they are fertilized because if they weren''t ,they would have lost interest by now and they would smell bad, wouldn''t they?
I guess I have more than 1 question here, sry. So far I think I''m doing o.k with them, just a bit concerned about what to feed them so they can feed the babies. Thanx so much !
