there is no outside electrical wiring, i don't mind burrowing and the yard is fenced and block walled all around.
i'm not 100% sure as to what the hutch for the rabbits is.
i currently have 2 cats that are very domestic and every once in a while we may see a possum.
how about the tortoises do we need anything special for them and what kind of tortoise should i get.

Hello,

A Rabbit hutch is an area in which the rabbits can be housed if there is a storm or a place of safety for your rabbits. The reason I asked about wiring is, I live in Florida and have a central A/C unit that is wired to the house. I have seen free roaming rabbits ruin a unit by chewing through the wires.

As far as tortoises ther are about 4-5 kinds each with a different requirement. The fact that your yard is fenced and blocked will be a real plus.

If you want a small tortoise you can look into the Russian tortoises that will get anywhere from 4-8 inches long.

The Red footed tortoise gets to be about 14-16" and is also one of the smaller breeds.

The Leopard tortoise will get 40-50 pounds and will be 16-18"

I personally prefer a smaller tortoise, because if I have to make a Vet trip the tortoise is easier to handle. You also have to take into consideration the life expectancy of the tortoises.

The Sulcata can reach large sizes and very heavy weights. Up to 110 pounds and live up to 100 years.

Here are some links to other tortoises:
