My 9 year old Maltese has been diagnosed with an MCT (mass cell tumor). My vet suggests that I have it surgically removed immediately. The vet also stated I need to have x-ray’s and bloodwork taken. Please advise if this sounds like the right method. My concern is her age and placing her under anthesia. Could the bloodwork alone or another method determine whether there is a malignancy or not. Thank you.
Where is this tumor located?
Does she have other health problems?
