(Not a Pet Question?)

gums
Sent to Pet Experts December 22 07:23 PM

My pet has sylavia coming from her mouth, and her gums and teeth look like they are going to fall out. Her gums have an awful oder, and are greenish brownish in color. She was a stray that we found and I need to know what to do for her that is not going to cost alot. It almost looks like it is decaying her teeth away, this has happened very quickly, could it be gum disease or is it something else? Thank you for your time.

It is hard to tell what the underlying problem is but poor teeth and abscesses in the mouth lead to serious long term illnesses.
I would take your pet in tomorrow and get an estimate for care. Many times we will start them on antibiotics for a week to get some of the infection under control before we do anything else.
If you explain the $ situation and the stray status, we usually can work something out with cutting costs here and there.
We always appreciate those people adopting stray animals and do the best we can to help.
Your pet is in need of the exam. It affects every aspect of their demeanor when they are in oral pain.

Good Luck,
