Our deceased neighbors cat came home to us with motor oil
on her stomach, legs and tail. She lives with us indoors and
outdoors, and is very old. How can we remove this without
too much trauma to her?

Hello. I don't know how she is about baths so only you can determine how traumatic a bath is going to be but you have to get the motor oil off her and definitely before she tries to do it herself and ingests it. You can bathe her in lukewarm water with the original version of Blue Dawn. Only the blue, not one of the others. That is what they use to clean up the ducks and other marine animals after an oil spill. Of course just be careful about eyes and ears and be extra sure you get her well rinsed. Depending on how much there is, it may take a couple shampoos and rinses. I hope this helps but if you have more questions, just let me know. Patricia
