how do you get rid of fleas?

Be very careful as you can easily over poison your dog with Hartz type products and shampoos.
Fleas only live part of the time on the dog and part they are on the floors etc laying eggs.
The best way to get rid of fleas is to use a product like Frontline which kills every flea that gets on the dog.
You could also use (but I would not as its more poison) Zodiac Fleatrol floor spray with precor that kills adult fleas on the floor and stops baby fleas that hatch on the floor from growing up to biting age.
Do be careful with the Hartz products as some animals have died from using them.

I know about hartz thats why i only left it on for about 1 hour then I bath gizmo.The shoot that the vet gave him was suppose to last longer however the vaccine that was given to him seemed to create the fleas. gizmo had never had fleas until the shot was given to him. It was given orally in the vets office and again 2 weeks later in my home. my sister told me the shots were outlawed.
