Foiiow up to a question I asked about anal glands
Recently I asked for an answer about my dog he had been biting his rear for a while and developed a wound under his tail. I took him to a vet he treated the wound gave us salve flushing water to keep it clean antihistamines and a buster collor. After the tail healed the dog started scooting and biting again. We immediately stopped him and brought him back to the vet., His stoll was negative for any parasites he had no fleas and was looked at by the vet who said his anal glands were now clear he had squeezed any fluid out the previous visit.    He is home happy eating going to the bathroom etc no temperature has Frontline on him so he gets no fleas and seems for the most part well. However he is now scooting a few times and biting again. What is happening. what should I do

I suggest keeping a close eye on him as this can be a behavioral sign as well in animals the scooting. Keep an eye for any redness and infection in the anal glands on his rear and if this condition continues I would definatly give the veterinarian a call to let him know the has started up again and see if he wants to start another round of antihistamines.

If could as well just still be a little irritation from the previous wound. Keep an eye on his eating habits temperature and tail area for any negative signs in the meantime if your veterinarian is open on Saturdays call him and ask about a possible extra round of medication to insure this condition is thoroughly healed.
