Question

untreatable skin infection?

Sent to Pet Experts April 10, 2005 10:02 p.m.

my scottish terrier has suffered from a severe skin condition, infection since october 2004. We have treated him with anitbiotics, medicated shampoo 1-2 weekly, keeping the hair completely trimmed back to prevent matting. The condition seems to begin healing, to only resurface. The odor is unbarable, the skin is severely raised up. the itching seems to bring such a discomfort that he becomes a different dog during the severe times. It is resurfacing again, my vet is lost at what to do, she has never seen or smelled anything like it. Can you help, I have researched and tried everything, I can’t find anything to help.

I am still hoping to get an answer on my baby's condition. He is getting worse each day, its now spreading, raised skin, itchy irritation, Mom can tell he does not feel good, he's even sleeping in the other room instead of with me. Now that tells you how bad he feels.
