Animal: 10 yr old, Male, American Staffordshire Terrier/ Rhodesian Ridgeback mix.
History: Heart worm 18 months ago, previous history unknown.

Symptoms: Diarrhea for 24 hours. Frequent bowel movements now resulting in blood excretions only.

Treatment: No food for 28 hours. No water for 16 hours. I am about to give him a small amount of water and a small amount of white rice.

Ideas? Comments? Questions? (The blood is the primary concern, what can it mean?)
