My cat is pooping on my carpet and will only use her litter box to urinate in. She only poops in one area on my carpet and does it when I’m home now, too. Previously, she would only poop outside her box when I wasn’t home, but now she does it when I’m home, too.

Greetings:

Usually, inappropriate elimination is a sign of a Medical problem(s) - and/or Emotional/Environmental problem(s) - and/or as a result of the litterbox. The first step is to rule out any medical problem(s) - thus, if you are able to, please schedule an appt. with your vet for proper testing.

Please review the link below for further information on inappropriate elimination.

I'm hoping and praying your cat gets a clean bill of health, and in such case, you may wish to consider using flower essences to restore proper physical and emotional balance in your cat:

Flower essences are dilute extracts of various types of flowers and plants that are used to treat animals and people. They are similar to homeopathic remedies in that they are diluted and potentized to make them more effective than just using the original flower as a herbal extract. The person who first developed the original flower remedies was Dr. Edward Bach, a famous English physician. He developed the Bach Flower Remedies when he was working as a homeopathic practitioner and devoted the last years of his life to researching and developing his remedies, from 1930 onwards. He wanted to find a simpler form of treatment that would not require anything to be destroyed or altered.

ANIMALS have emotions, attitudes and personalities just like humans. To care for an animal, it is helpful to observe the animal and learn how to distinguish between normal regular behavior and behavior that is unusual and out of balance. Pets often reflect the emotions of the people close to them and the environment in which they live. Emotions such as fear or anxiety or worry or depression can lead to dis-ease because they deplete the physical body of its natural vitality, thereby compromising the immune systems ability to function properly. By using the appropriate Flower Essences to balance emotional attitudes, subtle changes occur that bring renewed energy forward and short circuit the path to illness. Don't worry about choosing an inappropriate essence. They will not harm animals, or people, as they are self correcting- meaning that there are no unwanted side effects. Sometimes there are responses that may seem surprising but that is because each creature has a personal way of making changes in their own being. Flower essences are easy to use and are very economical.

Use directly from bottle or dilute 7 drops of Stock Concentrate in 1 oz. water and put a dropper full of this diluted essence in drinking water 4x a day or as needed. Put them in drinking water, directly in mouth, or drop on paws. You can put them in a spray bottle and spray an animal's kennel, sleeping area or coat. Put in bath water. Rub into your hands and pet the animal! In a time of stress, a crisis, or after an accident, it is best to give EMERGENCY RESCUE, every few seconds or every few minutes until the situation changes. Carry this combination with you at all times. You never know when an emergency will occur.

I suggest the following essence:

Breaking Bad Habits: Chestnut Bud can be helpful.

Pets & Bach Flower Essences

You may also need to change the litterbox more frequently - my beloved, cat, Marika, had a similar problem - and started to get a little finicky about her box - but she hasn't been feeling well for a couple of weeks. She is better now, so things are back to normal. I am hoping that your cat will be feeling better soon, too!

My very best to you and your cat.

Bright Blessings.

Peace, Love & Happiness,
