wound around groin area

my dog has a wound in his groin area along the side of his penis sheath. It's about an inch to an inch and a half in diamiter. It has not bled at all but is white, it kinda looks like an egg is about to pop out. It doesn't look like pus It's smooth. I have been cleaning with a sergical scrub and he doesn't mind he other wise acts normal. What else should I do?

Reply to Animal Eyes's Post: what do you mean by open? It hasn't bled at all if that is what you mean. I think that it is a friction burn from his tie out. it is one of thoughs cable coated w/ vinyl
