My Gerbils are not having babies. We have had them for about 5 months. They are a boy and a girl according to the pet shop. Is there something we are doing wrong?

Since I'm owner of an animal rescue & care network, I completely understand that you want babies, but are you really, 100% positive that you have homes waiting for each one? Good homes?
