guinea pig health

We got a guinea pig from a friend about 3 weeks ago, he was very healthy and has done fine adjusting to us.. but now he seems to be getting sick, he is not eating and has abit of a runny nose and is breathing kinda raspy. what can I do to help him get better. I love my pet and don't want him to die..
