Sent to Pet Experts September 06 10:11 AM

My female cat has a lesion on both of her hind legs on the ankle. They look like cherry lifesavers. We are taking her to the vet tomorrow, but my husband is very upset. they are very red but she will let you touch around them and she does not pull away. She is very lethargic bu tshe is eating.

If they are not painful and they are circular with hair missing, is may be ringworm lesions. I would make sure to wash your hands and try not not touch it anymore until you get your vet to confirm this just in case. Ringworm tends not to be painful but it is contagious so washing after handling her is your safest bet. Your vet will be able to prescribe medication that will get rid of it.

Good Luck!

Response to ZooCVT's Post: Thankyou for your information. It turned out that the vet thinks she had a blood clot and it blocked circulation to her hind legs hence causing her to drag her back hinds and skin them(I didn't notice this though). She is doing marvelous now. After treating the wounds and having her blood checked (white blood cell count bad) there was no other sign of problems. ALso had xrays done and no tumor or mass. So we are giving her a low dose of blood pressure medicine to help lower her pressure and giving her baby aspirin as well as the antibiotic for the wounds, which are almost healed now.
