I was wondering what kind of animal we saw this

I was wondering what kind of animal we saw this morning:
small dog size
hairless wrinkled face
skinny eyes
hairless tail with a ball of fur on the end colored black
short, stubby legs
tanish - red color and darker fur on the legs

is this some type of wild dog or cross breed?
