Why is does my hampster sqeal every time I try to pick her up?

I just got this Hampster a few days ago. Everytime I try and pick her up she makes this sqealing/hissing noise. I've had a hampster before and she never sqealed at me! I know I'm supossed to hold her and play with her but I'm scared! What do I do?
