Question

can my vet keep my animal overnight against my wishes

my cat was spayed this am. shes doing fine with no complications. my vet insists she stay overnight eventhough she has no body watching the animals in her clinic after 8pm. i am a nurse and would like to bring zoe home but she refuses to give me my cat. what can i do

I don't see how he can legally make you leave the cat. Tel him you will sign a release form or whatever it takes. Have you seen her since the surgery? Are you sure she had no complications? She may want to be 100% sure you do not feed her if she is not totally awake. They all come out of anesthesia differently. She is just afraid of being liable if something happens.

my vet was very testy and mean. if i called my local police, could they retrieve my animal for me or does the vet have the autority to keep my cat
