If you had no intentions of showing or breeding her later I'd suggest spaying her now.
In my experience if the dogs do it of their own volition they always get pregnant especially if you do not want the pups.
If this was another breed that bred her you may be looking at a c-section to deliver pups. You might find that is true anyhow as she is so young.
The mismate shot carries its own risks as it can lead to deadly uterine infection and prolongs the heat season.
Talk with your vet about any choice you make on this.
Plan on pups any time after 58 days from the tie and x-ray her a week before she is due to see if its one huge pup or if a c-section is likely to be needed.
Hope this helps you!

I am a small breeder, by that i mean i have 4 dauchshunds that our my children. I have 2 girls and 2 boys. I want each to have 2 litters a piece. They all have papers, but I mainly just want grandchildren,ha! ha!. But I was not planning on breeding her on the first cycle, I have always been told that was real unsafe. There are plenty of friends and family who want pups from them. The puppies would not be unwanted, and I am usually against abortion. However, I do not want to harm my precious little girl either. My sister works at an animal shelter and is trying to get me to get her some shots to abort. However, I hate to do that if my dogs life is not danger. Please, a second opinion?

Yes its a risk in letting her go through with the pregnancy and yet its also a big risk to use the shots that will abort the litter.
You *really* need to consult with your vet about this.
Maybe your girl is mature enough with supportive care to deliver a healthy litter no problem. Maybe the abortion shot would be OK but personally based on my knowledge of both possibilities I think I'd choose the litter over the shot in terms of safety for my dog and just plan to do the best nutrition, the best pre natal care, and an x-ray a week before pups are due to see if all is OK.
